چکیده
We investigate the Kerr and magneto-optical effects for a probe laser field with two orthogonally polarized components, propagating in cold Rydberg atomic gas an inverted-Y-type level configuration via double electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT). Through approach beyond both mean-field ground-state approximations, we make detailed calculations on third-order nonlinear optical susceptibilities show that system possesses giant nonlocal selfand cross-Kerr nonlinearities contributed by Rydberg-Rydberg interaction. The theoretical result of nonlinearity obtained 85Rb is very close to experimental one reported recently. Moreover, demonstrate can acquire large magnetooptical rotation EIT, which may be used design magnetometers high precision. results presented here are promising not only development magneto-optics but also applications precision measurement information processing transmission based gases.

Double Electromagnetically Induced Transparency in a Tripod-type Atom System
The electromagnetically induced transparency (EIT) phenomenon in a four level atomic system with tripod configuration is studied. The results show that this configuration is equivalent to the combination of two single three-level Λ configurations, which, under certain conditions, results in the so-called double-EIT (DEIT) phenomenon. The properties of the double transparency windows for DEIT ar...
متن کاملElectromagnetically induced transparency with Rydberg atoms.
We present a theory of electromagnetically induced transparency in a cold ensemble of strongly interacting Rydberg atoms. Long-range interactions between the atoms constrain the medium to behave as a collection of superatoms, each comprising a blockade volume that can accommodate at most one Rydberg excitation. The propagation of a probe field is affected by its two-photon correlations within t...
متن کاملControlling of Absorption and Dispersion Spectrum via Electromagnetically Induced Transparency
In this paper we examine the absorption and dispersion properties of a weak probe field via Electromagnetically Induced Transparency (EIT) in a four-level system. It is shown that under certain condition, using this model, the absorption cancellation is appeared and the medium becomes transparent to the weak probe field. It will be shown that the controlling of absorption and dispersion spectru...
متن کاملCavity-induced giant Kerr nonlinearities in a driven V -type atom
We discuss a simple and experimentally realizable model for creation of enhanced Kerr nonlinearities accompanied by vanishing absorption. The model involves a V -type atom subjected to a strong drive laser, a weak probe laser and coupled to a single-mode cavity field. Working in the bad-cavity limit, we find that the simultaneous coupling of the cavity field to both atomic transitions creates a...
متن کاملElectromagnetically induced absorption and transparency in magneto-optical resonances in elliptically polarized field
Using a 1 → 2 transition as an analytically tractable model, we discuss in detail magneto-optical resonances of both EIA (electromagnetically induced absorption) and EIT (electromagnetically induced transparency) types in the Hanle configuration. The analysis is made for arbitrary rate of depolarizing collisions in the excited state and arbitrary elliptical field polarization. The obtained resu...
